Why does my website keep going offline?

Almost everyday I am getting alerts that my website was offline, it seems to be no more than 10min each time, why does this keep happening? I want to start transferring more sites to this hosting, but this makes me nervous.

    Of course I am not privy to any details but I will say that sometimes when uptime monitors poll and there is a lot of activity on the server side like Cron Jobs and the like. Just a thought… I get down warnings all of the time from multiple server hosts in ManageWP and in here when the site is not actually down…

    Uptime monitor usually polls every 5 to 10 minutes which is why you would have a 10 minute outage reported. I doubt very seriously that their hosting is actually down every day. At least that is my experience…Like I said, there are a multitude of reasons that an uptime monitor would/does get a false website down alert…

    Hi Brad,

    I have thought of that already, my site is the only one showing offline when I get those alerts, no other site shows that, so I’m assuming that my site does actually go down when those alerts come thru.

    Hello Ryan,

    I can see that Uptime reports socket timeout on your site, it mean that at the moment of the ping there was no answer from the site for 30 sec.

    And as Brad said that doesn’t mean that site is down. It only means that it’s not responding to ping in the time Uptime is expecting.

    There can be different reason for that, so I have sent message to Hosting team to check if that is something on the server side that could cause that.

    I will let you know when they will finish checking.
