WordPress Only!

I like WordPress very much and am sure it has a lot of potential to grow into another great social media product. But why is there a need to separate into three different products like WPMU;WordPress;Buddypress. Put them into one, ie 3 in 1; Only then, your users will be able to appreciate the flexibility and well integrated product, ie WordPress ! The only BRAND.

    Hi Guize,

Ultimately, there really is only one, WordPress. BuddyPress is merely a plugin for WordPress, whereas Multisite is a feature that simply needs to be enabled.

Multisite and BuddyPress aren’t needed by everyone and require some extra resources that some people don’t want, so keeping them separate actually helps a great deal.

    Cheers,

    Hiya Guize,

Therefore, that is the lack of flexibility which am referring to. It should be like any other plugins which are theme independent.

That’s an issue with BuddyPress. They’re working on addressing it in some pretty awesome ways in BuddyPress 1.4. If you want to be part of that conversation, you should chime in over on BuddyPress.org.

    Thanks!
