[WPMU DEV Dashboard] Global Plugin notifications without opt-in

2

Hi – I’m requesting that plugin notification emails could be set globally from the Hub, and also done so without a secondary opt-in. This creates an added slew of emails to content with and opt-into which can get lost, and often expire before being effecitve. If these notifications could be set one time, with recipients managed globally within the Hub, this would be much more scalable and efficient.

Thanks-

Hey Patrick Freitas Yes – the plugin notifications.

I’m referring to the mail2 opt-in that gets sent out. Every notification has to be manually confirmed, and sometimes these emails can get missed in the midst of other daily communications, or they expire before being able to be accepted.

Also – The configs don’t work for all plugins, namely Hummingbird I’ve noticed. As well, when managing a large number of sites, it would be super helpful to have one centralized, global panel within the hub to control these notifications across all sites with one click, without needing to manually apply a config in order to change that (if an internal email needs to change for instance, or be added to all sites for specific notifications, then this becomes cumbersome when not all site share the same config, or you don’t want to risk bulk overwriting other settings). A global setting vs custom panel option that could be overwritten on a per site basis would be very useful.

    Hello John

Hope you’re doing well! Apologies for the delay in response.

Thank you for confirming about plugin notifications.

I see your point of view and it could be a good feature. However, the notification email confirmation is a part of additional security so that unwanted emails cannot be spammed. Hence the manual process.

With that said, we do have an improvement task to globally configure plugin options from the Hub including notifications which is at a very early stage at the moment, I will add your request as a vote to the task so that it will help with the priority.

About Hummingbird Pro > Notification configs indeed they cannot be applied as a part of Configs, but, we do have a related improvement already in our pipeline too.

Regarding both the features, I am afraid, I will not be able to share any confirmed ETA as of now as to when it will be released. However, I would recommend you subscribe to our roadmap page so that you’re notified when we release new features and plugin updates.

    Kind Regards,
    Saurabh
